Metal Cleaning Chemicals

High-performance cleaning for improved surface readiness and coating adhesion.

A. DEGREASING CHEMICALS

Degreasing is a critical stage in metal pretreatment, essential for the effective removal of oils, greases, and surface contaminants from iron and steel substrates. These chemicals can be applied through immersion, spray, or wiping methods, depending on process requirements.

Typical application is carried out at temperatures ranging from 50°C to 90°C, with a treatment time of 5–10 minutes. Key operating parameters include temperature, concentration, and contact time; lower temperature or concentration levels can be compensated by increasing treatment duration. For optimal performance and bath stability, the use of soft water is recommended.

We have different kind of degreasing products

1. Alkaline Degreaser

Alkaline degreasers are highly effective in removing oils, greases, and organic contaminants from metal surfaces. They function by converting insoluble fatty substances into water-soluble compounds, ensuring efficient and thorough cleaning compared to conventional degreasing systems.

The components are typically cleaned by immersion or spray methods at recommended temperatures and exposure times to achieve optimal performance. Process parameters such as concentration, temperature, and treatment duration must be carefully controlled. Strong alkaline cleaners are generally avoided in manganese phosphating processes, as they may adversely affect coating quality.

 Product Range

  • Degreasers for Dip and Spray applications
  • Heavy-duty and light-duty degreasers
  • Ambient and Hot-temperature degreasers
  • Alkaline degreasers for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metal components
  • Non-etching alkaline degreasers

2. Acidic Degreaser

Acidic degreasers are specially formulated for effective removal of oils, light oxides, and surface contaminants from iron, aluminium, mild steel, and cast components. These systems are particularly suitable where alkaline cleaning is not preferred or where simultaneous de-oiling and mild de-oxidation is required.

B. DERUSTING CHEMICALS

When iron or steel is exposed to humid or corrosive environments, oxidation begins, leading to the formation of rust. Rust is soluble in acids such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid, making chemical treatment an effective method for its removal.

Derusting chemicals are highly effective in removing rust, scale, welding deposits, and light oil films from metal surfaces. However, hydrochloric acid-based cleaning is generally avoided due to its aggressive nature and potential risk of base metal attack.

These formulations are suitable for iron, steel, and certain non-ferrous metals and are typically applied by immersion under controlled operating conditions. The balanced formulation ensures smooth, uniform cleaning performance.

Modern derusting chemicals are designed with environmental considerations, incorporating organic acids, surfactants, and corrosion inhibitors to provide effective yet safer chemical cleaning solutions.

E. 2 IN 1 Cleaner

2 in 1 chemical is a dual-action formulation designed for the simultaneous removal of oils, greases, rust, and light scale from metal surfaces. By combining degreasing and derusting functions in a single process, it improves operational efficiency and reduces processing time.

The product is suitable for iron, steel, and select non-ferrous metals and is typically applied through immersion under controlled operating conditions. Its balanced formulation ensures consistent and smooth performance without excessive attack on the base metal.

F. 3 IN 1 Cleaner

3 in 1 chemical is a multi-functional formulation designed to simultaneously degrease, derust, and lightly phosphate metal surfaces. By integrating three surface treatment actions into a single process, it enhances efficiency and reduces processing time.

It is typically applied by brush, swabbing, or immersion methods, depending on application requirements. The treated surface provides an ideal base for subsequent painting or coating operations, ensuring improved adhesion and durability.

This product is also suitable for use as an in-line deruster and pre-treatment cleaner prior to painting or other metal finishing processes.
